As we await further developments in regards to 344 Nassau, we have been also turning our attention to the Princeton Master Plan currently being socialized with the community and our town elected and appointed officials.
We know by the outpouring of support in our effort to Preserve Princeton History and "SaveJugtown.org", many of you share our support for affordable housing, but also the need to ensure it balances with the historic character of our neighborhoods. We are keenly interested to understand the Master Plan's inclusion of historic preservation, and the impact of the Plan's proposed development on our town's historic neighborhoods and districts.
Two recent opinion pieces in both Planet Princeton and Town Topics do a nice job at capturing these concerns, among other potential implications:
Planet Princeton Opinion Piece
We urge those of you who share our interest, become educated on the proposed Princeton Master Plan!
The next two key dates for reviewing the Master Plan for Princeton are Thursday, October 19, for a presentation of the plan at the Planning Board (virtual mtg 7-11 p.m.),

and November 9, at the Master Plan hearing at Planning Board. (virtual meeting 7-11 p.m.) where public comment is expected to be allowed.
Please plan to listen, understand what is being proposed, and make your voice heard for sensible development, while the Master Plan can still be influenced. We anticipate that the town will move quickly here.
Members of our group have met with the Developer of 344 Nassau St., the Mayor, and with multiple members of Council to push the message that development within the historic district under the Affordable Housing Overlay ordinance needs to comply with the historic preservation ordinance.
A review of the Historic Preservation Commission meeting in February at which the Concept Plan for 344 Nassau was presented shows that the HPC is very mindful that the development must follow the requirements of the historic preservation ordinance.
Please Watch the February 27th HPC Concept Review and the comments of the HPC and public. This review starts at 2 hour 10 minute mark.
